Virak is for sale

Now is the opportunity to get your hands on the perfect
fast blue water cruiser

In August 2021 Virak began its current adventure from Denmark through Europe and the Caribbean. Virak made it to the Pacific in the beginning of 2022 where it has been cruising around ever since. In August 2023 we took over Virak from our friends, and have spent the last 1 ½ years cruising around French Polynesia and the Southern Pacific islands. As we have started to miss home we are now searching for the right new owner(s) who will enjoy cruising Virak as much as we do.

Virak is a well-equipped and well-maintained 40 ft mono hull built for blue water racing. It is an IMX-40 from 2001, designed and built by the Danish company X-Yachts – and it is one of their best performing ocean racers, still winning races today. With the open stern and huge carbon wheel, Virak visually stands out among similar boats. All sheets and halyards are accessible from the cockpit which makes the boat easy to handle even for single-hand sailing. With its large rudder and deep draft, Virak is made for fast, comfortable and safe cruising, even in rough conditions.

The IMX-40 is built for speed and for durability. Both the mast, boom and wheel is made entirely from carbon making it lightweight. Below deck the saloon and cabins exudes homeliness and quality as the main material used for cabinetry, walls and doors is teak (both varnished and painted). With three double cabins and a spacious saloon, it easily houses six adults, even for longer crossings, though technically there is sleeping space for ten. The two back cabins each has a hammock making it comfortable to sleep two people also when heeling.

For the potential European buyer, it might be worth mentioning that EU VAT has been paid.

Though the IMX-40 is a race-boat, before leaving Denmark Virak was retrofitted for cruising.
